Develop communications that increase internal visibility and understanding of MHI’s value, work and contributions among AbbVie employees and field teams.
Demonstrate understanding of the external environment, stakeholder insights and performance data; track objectives and KPIs; report results; and recommend improvements to plans and execution.
Support cross-R&D initiatives that elevate MHI’s contributions, as well as KOL engagement opportunities to advance MHI leadership visibility and communications objectives.
Manage workstreams, agency partners, budgets, timelines and review processes, contributing to annual planning, prioritization and continuous improvement across the R&D Communications operating model.
Ensure content is developed in compliance with applicable corporate, legal, regulatory and medical review requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in integrated communications, preferably in the healthcare, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
Solid understanding of the drug development lifecycle and the broader life sciences industry.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific, medical and value evidence into clear, compelling communications that strengthen pipeline and brand stories for diverse audiences.
Proven track record of translating communications strategy into high-quality tactical execution, delivering measurable outcomes and refining plans based on insights and impact.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives, coordinate cross-functional partners and deliver results in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Excellent verbal, written and visual storytelling skills, with strong attention to detail and sound communications judgment.
Collaborative, proactive and solutions-oriented, with strong business acumen, enterprise thinking and comfort navigating ambiguity.
Strong understanding of emerging communications trends, digital channels, senior leader visibility strategies and AI-enabled ways of working.
