Job Description

Responsibilities

Communications & Social Media: Manage the school's social media and digital communications, including creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Monitor social media engagement and metrics and make recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and effectiveness.
Develop content that highlights student achievements, academic programs, athletics, extracurricular activities, alumni, faculty and staff, fundraising initiatives, school events, and the Catholic mission of SJHS.
Maintain a consistent and professional voice and visual identity across communication platforms.
Serve as the school's primary website lead and contact.
Recommend website improvements and updates and make modifications as needed to ensure the site remains accurate, current, engaging, and user-friendly.
Writing, Editing, and Public Relations: Write, proofread, and edit print, digital, promotional, and social media materials for the Admissions and Development Departments, as well as for the school as requested.
Write and distribute press releases and public service announcements (PSAs).
Serve as the school's primary public relations, promotional, and marketing contact.
Develop communications that effectively promote the accomplishments, activities, mission, and impact of Saint Joseph High School.

Requirements

Outstanding verbal, writing, proofreading, editing, and communication skills.
Demonstrated professional writing experience (does not include AI-generated text).
Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital content.
Experience with Canva or a similar graphic design program.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Professional appearance and demeanor.

Preferred

Experience in education, nonprofit sector, Catholic schools, fundraising, or community relations is a plus.
