Job Summary

Own the market messaging and launch narrative for an AI video platform, shaping positioning, competitive intelligence, and cross-functional enablement across product, sales, and partnerships.

  • Define and maintain the messaging house and proof points
  • Lead launch strategy and design-partner motions
  • Drive adoption and iteration across the portfolio

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Positioning, narrative, and messaging
  • - Category definition. Author the market narrative for scene-level video intelligence: the problem, why now, why a shared platform beats point solutions, and why Gracenote is uniquely positioned to provide it.
  • - Segment-level value propositions. Translate one platform story into distinct, credible propositions for platform and distribution buyers, content owners, and the advertising ecosystem, each with its own economics, buying committee, and proof points.
  • - Messaging architecture. Build and maintain the messaging house, proof-point library, and terminology standards, and hold the organization to consistent language across product, sales, partnerships, and corporate marketing.
  • Market, customer, and competitive intelligence
  • - Competitive program. Maintain a living view of AI video-understanding vendors, platform-native capabilities, and adjacent metadata and ad-tech players. Frame the platform-versus-toolkit distinction in terms buyers actually feel: time to value, integration cost, and cost of ownership at full catalog scale.
  • - Voice of the customer. Run a structured discovery cadence with prospects, design partners, and internal commercial teams. Convert conversations into documented segment insight rather than anecdote.
  • - Market requirements. Feed evidence-based requirements and prioritization input to product, and co-author market requirements documents that connect capability to demand.
  • Launch and lifecycle
  • - Launch ownership. Own launch strategy and execution across the portfolio: tiering, readiness criteria, cross-functional plans, internal and external timing, and post-launch measurement.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years in product marketing, including meaningful time at a senior or lead level in B2B technology, data, or media technology. Demonstrated command of the craft: segmentation, positioning frameworks, messaging development, launch management, competitive analysis, and enablement.
  • Media and entertainment fluency. Real working knowledge of the video ecosystem: streaming and CTV, FAST and ad-supported models, linear and live, device platforms and operating systems, distributors and aggregators, studios and content packagers. You understand how content metadata drives discovery surfaces, program guides, recommendations, and ad targeting, and you can speak to how money moves through this ecosystem.
  • Technical credibility. Comfortable and accurate discussing multimodal AI and modern retrieval: embeddings and vector search, semantic and natural-language search, ontologies and taxonomies, knowledge graphs, entity resolution, and delivery through APIs and data feeds. You do not need to build it, but you must be able to hold a substantive conversation with our engineers and with a partner's technical team, then explain it plainly to a business buyer without overclaiming.
  • Zero-to-one instincts. Experience taking new or category-creating products to market where the reference customers, the category language, and sometimes the buyer are all still being established. Comfortable operating with incomplete inputs and a moving roadmap.
  • Multi-audience storytelling. You have marketed the same underlying technology to structurally different buyers and kept the story coherent across all of them.
  • Exceptional writing . Clear, dense, persuasive writing is the core output of this role, from a one-line positioning statement to an executive narrative to a partner FAQ.
  • Cross-functional influence. Proven ability to align product, sales, partnerships, legal, and executive stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Education. Bachelor's degree required. MBA or equivalent experience welcome.

Preferred

  • Advertising technology exposure: contextual targeting, dynamic ad insertion, brand suitability, or measurement.
  • Familiarity with content metadata standards, industry consortia, or interoperability initiatives.
  • Experience with data licensing or data-product business models.
  • International or multi-region go-to-market experience.
