Job Summary

Own and oversee athletic department communications, building and safeguarding records, managing student staff, and driving storytelling across media relations, social channels, and game-day coverage.

  • Lead media relations and student-staff management.
  • Oversee digital platforms, game broadcasts, and feature stories.
  • Coordinate awards, events, and photo/video coverage with coaches and marketing.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Primary Function : Coordinate all aspects of media relations, management of student employees and maintaining accurate records and files
  • Maintain and develop current social media channels
  • Coordinate game day video broadcasts
  • Prepare all game programs
  • Maintain all (in-season, career & historical) material for the Region and NJCAA statistics and materials
  • Prepare hometown stories, releases, and feature stories for student-athletes/coaches
  • Maintain department web site (currently Presto Sports)
  • Coordinate photo coverage for all varsity sports to include action, team and individual athlete photos
  • Write sports wrap-ups on each varsity sport for external release and use in other publications
  • Responsible for the nomination of student-athletes for scholarships, awards, including: Academic all-conference, All-Americas; weekly and seasonal Region 4 honors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong leadership, role modeling, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have an understanding of collegiate regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Be a self-starter and have exceptionally strong writing and editing capabilities, strong project-management capabilities, be a team player, think creatively, and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
  • This position will require working nights, weekends, lifting light equipment and some travel.
  • Knowledge of the digital media landscape including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Snapchat.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of cutting-edge social media tools and technologies to help take our social channels to the next level.

Preferred

  • Experience in a college sports information office or comparable environment, preferred.
  • Graphic design, web and video editing experience a plus.
