AVP Marketing

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a cohesive marketing strategy to increase brand awareness. Development and implementation of the Marketing strategy for new and existing products and services. In consultation with the executive team and managers, develops and recommends an annual plan for the Marketing Department in the context of the organization’s strategic and operating plans. Sets objectives for each strategic area and outlines specific activities to be pursued for achieving those objectives. Oversees implementation of the Brand and Marketing strategies including campaigns, events, digital marketing, PR, social media, website, and other media. Contributes to marketing effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues; influences present and future products by evaluating current and future market trends and with internal and external sources. Prepare regular reports and presentations on marketing for the CEO, Executive Team and other Directors/Managers. Create effective and efficient processes to reduce costs and errors while improving productivity.
• Plans, executes, and manages team by reviewing marketing plans including short and long-term strategies, coordinate with different departments/stakeholders, and participate in creating with team advertising and promotion activities including print, online, digital, outdoor, broadcast, social media, radio, direct mail, and others. Manage the creation of all marketing collateral and support tools; perform targeting & position for each product line. Execute integrated online/offline, SEO, advertising, PR, website, and other campaigns to generate Brand awareness, member development, and membership growth in accordance with corporate objectives. Establishes and maintains a consistent Brand throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events. Maintain knowledge of marketing trends, developments, and best practices including monitoring competitor products and marketing activities. Ensures regulatory Advertising compliance is met across all marketing mediums. Integral partner in new product/service launches/discontinuance, product/fee changes, organization mergers, and assists other departments within organization to prepare training, new product information, etc. as needed.
• Plans, executes and manages marketing initiatives for deposit product lines; provides short-term market forecasts, reports, and recommendations to ALCO; direct marketing research and collection including monitoring competitor products and marketing activities. Plans, executes and manages marketing initiatives for Consumer Loans product lines; provides market trends, reports, and recommendations to Consumer Lending team; monitor competitor marketing activities.
• Creates and manages the annual budget by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Maintain relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer-relations programs; determining company presence at conventions, annual meeting, community affairs, and other events. Responsible for the development and implementation of an annual, strategic, special events calendar that ensures the efforts, resources and volunteer time are utilized in a manner that provides the greatest return to the organization. Ensures all events are planned to capture the attention of the intended audience and the media. Develops and implements communications and media strategies that successfully deliver information and key messages to the public. Responsible for CEO Quarterly Communication, creation of Annual Report and Annual Meeting documents and event, and other public-facing communications as needed. Represents the Credit Union at various functions to develop business and customer relationships. Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners. Prepares communications and reports for the Board of Directors, President’s report and others as needed. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
• Maintains marketing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees as well as planning, monitoring and appraising job results. Conducts performance reviews; allocates resources to meet operations needs within the department. Develops marketing staff by providing information, educational, and growth opportunities.

Requirements

• Minimum BS degree in business, marketing, or communications. Exceptional knowledge of marketing strategies, concepts, and practices.
• Individual must possess a minimum of seven to ten years combined senior management and communications experience in an organization involving a significant number of people with diverse and varied interests and backgrounds. Must have experience managing and a coaching team.
• Solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience must include strategic planning, financial planning and strategy, statistical analysis, developing and managing budgets, communications planning and management, marketing research and planning, able to successfully manage processes, media relations, and client relationships.
• Individual must be a strong communicator, have excellent written, presentation, oral communications and interpersonal skills.
• Individual must possess strong leadership skills, be able to motivate and influence others.
• Individual must be able to think creatively and strategically, have excellent judgment and be able to work in a changing environment.
