Samsara’s product marketing role centers on building and evolving a cohesive platform narrative that ties hardware, software, data, and AI into a clear value proposition. The role works cross-functionally to enable GTM plans, provide executive-ready assets, and synthesize customer and market insights into strategic positioning. Key requirements include senior-level content ownership, cross-functional leadership, and strong communication with senior audiences.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Narrative & Messaging
  • Develop and evolve the platform story that unifies Samsara’s hardware, software, data, and AI capabilities into a cohesive value proposition.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences (executives, CIOs, product users, partners, developers).
  • Cross-Platform Storytelling & GTM Enablement
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to ensure consistent messaging across go-to-market plans, launch briefs, pitches, and demos.
  • Lead the creation of platform pitch decks, quarterly roadmap narratives, and executive-ready content that support business priorities.
  • Executive & Field Support
  • Support field teams with high-leverage assets (solution briefs, enablement decks, etc.) that help drive adoption and pipeline.
  • Events & Thought Leadership
  • Shape, test, and occasionally present content for major events and keynotes, including breakout sessions, demos, and senior executive presentations.
  • Work with event marketing and communications to ensure a consistent and impactful public narrative.
  • Voice of Customer & Market Insight
  • Synthesize customer insights, competitive trends, and platform usage data into strategic positioning updates.
  • Serve as a marketing lead on platform-level research and strategic briefs.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of product marketing, portfolio marketing, or related experience in B2B SaaS / platform organizations with narrative ownership responsibilities (e.g., messaging frameworks, pitch architecture, cross-portfolio storytelling).
  • Track record driving GTM narratives that align product roadmaps with market value and customer outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Proven ability to partner deeply with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Demand teams to influence strategy and build consensus.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and leading with clarity to drive prioritized execution.
  • Communication & Presence
  • Exceptional communicator with strong reading, writing, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience building content for senior audiences (C-suite, CIOs), and shaping narratives for large events or major launches.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically — from high-level narrative architecture to detailed execution in decks and campaigns.
  • Experience and balance with LLMs for content development.
Preferred
  • An ideal candidate also has:
  • Experience scaling narrative frameworks across multiple product lines or geographies.
  • Familiarity with platform ecosystems, APIs, developer audiences, or technical buyers.
  • Experience with analyst relations, ecosystem partners, and platform launch planning.
Benefits
  • Total Rewards At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time.
  • Flexible Working At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in-person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on-site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely. All offers of employment are contingent upon an individual’s ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location, if applicable.
