The City of Phoenix Communications Office is seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Senior Digital Content Manager to oversee the City's web content strategy and drive the next evolution of Phoenix.gov.
As Senior Digital Content Manager, you will serve as a top expert for the City on web content management, digital user experience, and online public information delivery. You will play a leadership role in the strategy, development, and implementation of web content and digital communication tools used by millions of residents, visitors, and businesses each year.
This position guides a team responsible for ensuring Phoenix.gov remains accurate, accessible, user-friendly-, and aligned with the City's communications goals. The Senior Digital Content Manager will collaborate closely with department web editors, City leadership, IT partners, and subject matter experts across all departments to maintain high-quality online content and strengthen the City's digital presence.
The ideal candidate is a forward-facing, innovative thinker with a strong understanding of web best practices, accessibility standards, and strategic communications. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across a large and diverse organization. Because maintaining a collaborative network is essential to this role, the Senior Digital Content Manager is expected to be available in-person regularly to support colleagues, foster cross-departmental connections, and stay deeply engaged with the work happening across City teams.
Key responsibilities include developing and enforcing web content standards, managing major content updates and redesign initiatives, analyzing web performance metrics to guide improvements, and ensuring all City web content remains timely, accurate, and engaging. The Senior Digital Content Manager will also provide training, guidance, and support to City staff who contribute to Phoenix.gov.
This position is a core member of the Communications Office and works collaboratively to advance the department's mission of providing accurate, timely, and compelling information to the community. The role generally works traditional business hours with occasional after-hours work based on City needs.
Pay Range: $86,590.40 to $121,825.60 annually.
Hiring Range: $86,590.40 41.63 to $121,825.60 annually.
