Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own and steward Funko's visual brand identity, personality, and tone of voice, driving consistency and elevation across teams, channels, and geographies, and institutionalizing brand guidelines across the organization and with licensor and retail partners.
  • Lead all Funko brand creative from concept through execution, delivering high-quality, innovative work aligned to brand positioning, the Brand Marketing Calendar, licensed-partner needs, and channel specifics.
  • Oversee creative and production across every consumer-facing touchpoint: social media, funko.com, paid media, retail, events and experiential, campaigns, product launches, and internal/company content.
  • Partner with Brand & Product Marketing, PR/Comms, Social Media/Influencer Marketing, and sales-channel owners to build compelling campaigns that elevate brand presence while meeting commercial goals.
  • Develop close relationships with product creative teams to ensure a cohesive fan experience that seamlessly connects product and brand storytelling.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team across design, copy, photo/video, and studio; fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and craft, and actively driving hiring, training, and development.
  • Drive the ideation process, translating conceptual ideas into compelling visual expression that resonates with target audiences.
  • Set the objectives, key results, processes, and workflows that keep the creative group high-functioning, organized, and on time, including team bandwidth and assignments.
  • Identify needs and manage creative outsourcing and agency relationships.
  • Represent creative vision and art direction at the executive level with corporate teams and external partners.

Requirements

  • 10–12 years of progressive creative marketing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Art, or Design, or equivalent experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a high-performing team.
  • Experience designing and implementing a creative marketing organizational structure.
  • Proven ability to develop cross-functional partnerships, leading with authority as well as through influence.
  • Experience leading a team of creatives across disciplines, including design, copy, photo, and video. Experience both doing and leading the work is critical for success.
  • Ability to innovate and drive progressive change.
  • Deep experience and interest in social media, including content and storytelling needs across multiple channels (Instagram, TikTok, X, etc.).
  • Experience leading creative marketing for a global brand highly preferred.

  • A genuine consumer of pop culture, with deep knowledge across toys, collectibles, and the fandoms that define them: anime, gaming, Disney, and beyond.
  • Digital-native, but skilled at IRL creative expression with experience driving in-store creative and activating at major cons and events.
  • An experienced team leader who knows how to get the best out of diverse teams with differing strengths and passions.
  • An exceptional content editor who understands the big picture but sees the details.
  • Someone who delights in building and implementing processes to keep your team organized at all times.
  • Experienced at writing and editing content pieces yourself.
  • A quick learner who can juggle multiple projects and responsibilities.
  • A visionary with a unique, coherent point of view on the Creative Brand department's future growth.
  • Endlessly curious about new tools, technologies, and industries.
