Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Community Ed voice and brand through storytelling and visual language via electronic, web-based, social media and print communications; Ensure a high-quality customer experience on the Community Ed website and online registration platform, including maintaining home and program landing pages and ensuring efficient site navigation; work with department communication vehicles and internal and external resources in creation and dissemination of information; lead data collection related to 'three uniques' for department and ensure marketing and communication efforts reinforce these unique
  • Establish a system to track, analyze and evaluate marketing and promotions performance; Measure and record data and statistics for department communications efforts (email, social media, print) to ensure successful execution of messaging. Compare benchmarks to own standards and industry standards
  • Increase and reinforce Community Ed's value proposition within both school districts and the community through various communication vehicles including press releases, interviews, one-on-one meetings. etc.; work with communications departments from both districts as necessary to inform and educate
  • Maintain 'best practice' group of lifelong learning organizations and monitor marketing & communications efforts of those organizations to stay up-to-date on latest marketing trends. Research marketing & communications practices of successful organizations in other industries to identify potential new solutions to promote programs
  • Identify and solve friction points for internal and external audiences as it relates to marketing & communications efforts of the department; ensure information being communicated is being received as intended by stakeholders
  • Provide direction and evaluation for assigned staff to ensure marketing and communications needs of the department are being met and in alignment with defined objectives and expectations
  • Responsible for management and oversight of assigned budget to ensure marketing and communications efforts contribute to the financial success of Community Ed. This includes working with staff on setting goals, monitoring progress and providing guidance when needed
  • Serve as a member of the Community Ed Leadership Team
  • Collaborate with Leadership Team members in planning and leading Community Ed Management Team meetings
  • Participate in and provide relevant and accurate marketing/communications insight as a member of the Community Ed management team and on department-wide committees

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required: communications, marketing, journalism, business or comparable discipline preferred
  • 3-5 years of professional-level experience with increasing responsibilities in marketing/communications field
  • Previous experience supervising employees
  • Strong writing, analytical, communications and organizational skills
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at the same time
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspaces and Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with the use of technology and social media in a business setting
  • Experience with Google Analytics preferred
  • Experience with Canva preferred
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of photography and video editing preferred
