Marketing & Communications Fellow

Responsibilities

• Event Planning & Promotion - Support planning and execution of in-person and virtual events, including event logistics, schedules, invitations, and attendee coordination.
• Develop outreach and promotional materials that encourage event participation and stakeholder engagement.
• Assist with event-day support, attendee records, and post-event communications and follow-up.
• Content Creation & Communications - Create and edit written, visual, and video content for social media, email campaigns, newsletters, and event promotions.
• Support internal and external communications that highlight Sunstone initiatives and engage relevant audiences.
• Work with other teams to review materials and maintain consistent branding and messaging across channels.
• Research, Analytics & Project Coordination - Research industry trends, target audiences, and peer organizations to help inform marketing plans and content.
• Track event and campaign results, including attendance, engagement, and relevant return-on-investment measures; prepare concise performance updates.
• Maintain project trackers, content calendars, contact records, and shared marketing files to support timely execution.
• Provide administrative and project coordination support for marketing priorities as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
• Currently enrolled in graduate studies in a related field at an accredited U.S. university, with program completion expected no later than June 30, 2027.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and project coordination skills, with attention to detail and design.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom; familiarity with LinkedIn and Luma.
• Experience with or willingness to learn Canva, Mailchimp, and other digital marketing tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively, balance multiple deadlines, and work on-site in Irvine during business hours.

Preferred

• Bilingual ability (including Mandarin) and experience communicating across cultures are a plus.
