Job Summary

Own the Trinity communications function, overseeing content creation and brand management, and build out a scalable communications ecosystem including social media, website, and campaigns.

  • Lead content production for worship and community
  • Relaunch and optimize social channels and campaigns
  • Build and mentor a volunteer content team

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create Content (~60%)
  • - Shoot and edit. Produce short-form video (Reels, Shorts), photography, and graphics capturing worship, community life, and ministry impact. You'll be onsite for Sundays and key liturgical moments — that's where the story lives.
  • - Steward creative direction. Shape and maintain Trinity's visual identity across digital, print, and physical spaces — warm, modern, and unmistakably ours. In your first year, you'll help lead a brand refresh in close partnership with the Rector and the Marketing & Communications Commission, then serve as its day-to-day guardian.
  • - Shape the brand voice. Craft messaging that speaks to both our 40-year members and the curious neighbor who's never set foot in a church — anchored in our commitment to radical welcome.
  • - Work fast with modern tools. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and AI-assisted workflows are part of how we expect you to maintain high output at high quality.
  • Build Out Our Communications Ecosystem (~40%)
  • - Relaunch Instagram and Facebook. Bring our dormant social channels back to life with a coherent strategy, sustainable publishing cadence, and genuine community engagement — built on the vision you and the Rector shape together.
  • - Level up what's working. Our YouTube channel and newsletter are established and consistent — functional but not yet at their potential. You'll raise their quality, polish, and reach rather than starting over.
  • - Run integrated campaigns. Design and measure multi-channel campaigns across social, email, web, ads, and print that grow attendance, engagement, and volunteer involvement.
  • - Build the infrastructure. Editorial calendar, email platform, CMS, publishing tools — systems that make excellence repeatable, not heroic.

Requirements

  • You have 5–7+ years in communications, brand, creative direction, or content strategy — with a portfolio that proves you can both make the work and direct it
  • You're entrepreneurial: you've built systems, channels, or brands from scratch and enjoyed it
  • You do your best work in creative partnership — you love taking a leader's vision and elevating it, and you know how to bring stakeholders along without losing momentum or your own creative voice
  • You're a strong shooter and editor (video and photo), fluent in short-form social content
  • You know how licensing works for creative content, including music rights for streamed and social media use
  • You're warm, relational, and energized by community — comfortable pointing a camera at real people in sacred moments, with sensitivity and consent
  • You're organized enough to run an editorial calendar and honest enough to tell us when the plate is full

Preferred

  • Bonus points for: audience-growth or community-building campaign experience; SEO, audience targeting, and paid social fluency; experience with faith-based or values-driven organizations.

Benefits

  • Benefits: Comprehensive health insurance and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions.
