Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Marketing & Communications Manager leads the execution of the Ecology Center’s marketing and communications efforts through planning and coordination.
  • In conjunction with the Leadership Team, the Business Development Director establishes the organization's overarching communications and marketing goals, priorities, strategy, and budget.
  • Working closely with the Business Development Director and other organizational leadership, the Manager actively supports communications planning and translates these priorities into effective marketing strategies, campaigns, work plans, and deliverables.
  • The Manager owns and project-manages the implementation of communications and marketing projects across the organization, ensuring that they are strategic, cohesive, timely, and consistent with the Ecology Center’s mission and brand.
  • This is a hands-on leadership role that combines communications planning and project management with direct execution.
  • The Manager develops and produces newsletters, email campaigns, social media content, advertisements, flyers, web content, and other digital and print collateral.
  • Working collaboratively with program staff, the Manager promotes programs and services, tells the story of our impact, engages supporters, strengthens fundraising efforts, and increases the organization’s visibility and reach.
  • Strategy & Project Management
  • Work closely with the Business Development Director to translate organizational marketing and communications goals and priorities into actionable plans, campaigns, and deliverables.
  • Own and maintain the organization-wide communications and editorial calendar, coordinating campaigns, events, fundraising, program communications, and other priorities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to develop communications that effectively reach and engage diverse audiences while advancing the Ecology Center’s environmental and social justice goals.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt communications for different audiences, platforms, and objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience executing integrated marketing and communications strategies.
  • Strong project-management skills and ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, timelines, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience with email marketing, social media, websites, digital advertising, print communications, and other communications channels.
  • Strong understanding of branding and ability to maintain consistency across a multi-program organization.
  • Ability to use communications analytics and performance data to evaluate and improve marketing efforts.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to translate program and organizational priorities into effective external communications.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, prioritize competing requests, and proactively move projects forward.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and follow-through.

  • Pay range $79,343.47 to $87,277.82 DOE, plus full medical and dental insurance, optional vision insurance, vacation, sick leave, holiday leave, employer-matched 401k plan, and Employee Assistance Program.
