Job Title:

Vice President of Product (VP of Product)

Job Overview:

The Vice President of Product is responsible for the company’s overall product strategy, product roadmap planning, and product team management. This role drives the full product lifecycle—from market research and requirements analysis to product design and post-launch operations. The position requires a deep understanding of user needs, business models, and industry trends, as well as the ability to coordinate across multiple departments—including engineering, design, operations, and marketing—to ensure products achieve business growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy Development

Develop the company’s medium- and long-term product strategy and direction

Formulate product plans based on market trends, user needs, and the competitive landscape

Establish a product roadmap

Drive product innovation and business model upgrades

Analyze industry changes and rapidly develop response strategies

2. Product Lifecycle Management

Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept, design, and development to launch

Manage product priorities and version iterations

Define product KPIs and growth targets

Continuously optimize user experience (UX)

Monitor post-launch data performance and user feedback

3. Team Management and Leadership

Build and manage the product team

Recruit, train, and evaluate product managers

Establish product management processes and standards

Improve cross-departmental collaboration efficiency

Foster a data-driven product culture

4. Cross-Departmental Collaboration

Collaborate with engineering teams to drive development progress

Work with marketing teams to develop Go-To-Market strategies

Collaborate with operations teams to optimize user retention

Communicate with sales teams regarding customer needs

Coordinate with design, data analytics, and customer service teams

5. Data Analytics and Growth

Drive product decisions through data analysis

Track key metrics:

MAU / DAU

Retention rate

Conversion rate

CAC / LTV

NPS

Establish A/B testing processes

Optimize the user growth funnel

6. Monetization and Profitability

Develop product monetization strategies

Drive revenue growth

Optimize subscription, advertising, or transaction models

Research market pricing strategies

Enhance product profitability

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher

20+ years of product management experience

15+ years of senior management experience

Experience leading product teams
