Job Description

WHO WE ARE:

Soulmates.ai is an audience intelligence platform built on the HEXACO personality model. Our products (Brand Soulmates, Digital Twins of competitive conquest audiences, the Foresight Engine, and our agent, Enya) are rebuilding the foundation of how brands understand people, and then predict how they'll respond.

We sit inside Ayzenberg Group, one of the largest, privately held advertising and media companies on the West Coast, which gives us startup agility backed by an established operation with 35+ years of experience.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for a Technical Product Manager (for Soulmates.ai) to help build the future of brand intelligence. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, data-driven insights, and technical execution, translating AI capabilities into real-world use cases and scalable products.

You will work closely with leadership, engineering, and commercial teams to define what we build, why it matters, and how it gets delivered. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in ambiguity and can bridge business needs, product thinking, and AI systems.

This role combines elements of product management and technical program execution, ensuring that product direction is clearly defined and that teams move efficiently to bring that vision to life—reflecting the need to unify product and project responsibilities into one function.

NOTE: This is a freelance-to-hire role. Full-time hours. The goal is to make sure it's a great fit for both sides, and then transition to permanent hire.

The day-to-day:

Define and translate use cases into product workflows

  • Partner with leadership and clients to understand business needs
  • Translate those needs, along with AI capabilities, into clear, repeatable product use cases and workflows

Build and evolve AI-powered products

  • Contribute to building a large-scale AI platform leveraging real audiences and digital twins for actionable insights
  • Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to turn product ideas into shipped features

Own the product + execution layer

  • Act as the connective layer between product strategy and engineering execution
  • Manage roadmaps, prioritize features, and oversee delivery across multiple workstreams
  • Ensure product decisions translate into clear tickets, milestones, and outcomes

Bridge technical and business stakeholders

  • Work across engineering, marketing, sales, and leadership teams to align priorities
  • Communicate trade-offs, feasibility, and timelines clearly

Shape product direction

  • Help define what the product should be—not just what it can do
  • Guide decisions on how to turn data, insights, and AI models into usable products

Drive go-to-market alignment

  • Partner with product marketing and sales teams to support positioning and commercialization
  • Help package capabilities into compelling narratives for internal and external audiences

Leverage data and insights

  • Use predictive analytics, social listening, and behavioral data to inform product decisions
  • Track cultural and digital trends to identify new opportunity areas

Manage product lifecycle

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation through deployment and iteration
  • Ensure AI features (e.g., digital twins, predictive models, conversational agents) are integrated effectively into workflows

Operational ownership

  • Manage project tracking, sprint planning, and prioritization
  • Maintain clarity across workflows, tickets, and cross-functional dependencies

Maintain clarity and decision-making structure

  • Help define clear ownership, decision rights, and “who decides what” across product workflows
  • Ensure alignment and reduce ambiguity across a cross-functional, fast-moving team

Bottom line:

This is not a pure strategist and not a pure project manager. It’s a builder role responsible for:

  • Defining what gets built
  • Translating it into execution
  • Driving it through delivery

WHAT WE'LL (FOR SURE) BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • A competitive salary and great benefits package, including full medical, dental, and vision
  • A matching 401(k)
  • Paid maternity/paternity leave
  • Pet insurance
  • Monthly wellness benefits (to spend however you like on your own well-being!)
  • Annual education credit (for anything from Masterclass, to LinkedIn certifications, to a cooking or tango class—have fun with it!)
  • Unlimited PTO and paid holidays
  • A supportive, fun, and respectful team environment
  • The opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technologies
  • A hybrid model (in-office Tuesday - Thursday each week)

WHAT YOU'LL (IDEALLY) BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Experience in product management, technical program management, or building AI-enabled products
  • Proven ability to translate business needs + data + AI capabilities into product features and workflows
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams on complex technical systems
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, data pipelines, and productization of models
  • Background in predictive modeling, social listening, or audience intelligence tools
  • Familiarity with tools like Brandwatch, Pulsar, Sprinklr, VidMob, Meta Ads Manager, or similar platforms
  • Exceptional ability to communicate trade-offs, strategy, and product thinking clearly
  • Experience owning roadmaps, delivery, and cross-functional execution
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and bring structure to undefined problems
  • Experience packaging complex data insights into clear narratives
  • Strong bias toward ownership, accountability, and decisive action

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working on AI SaaS products or data platforms
  • Exposure to psychographic modeling frameworks (e.g., HEXACO)
  • Experience in marketing intelligence, advertising, gaming, or media ecosystems
  • Experience balancing product strategy with hands-on execution (product + project hybrid role)

So, if you've read this far and have that butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling, please apply -- we'd love to hear from you!
