Job Summary

Own end-to-end production planning and inventory stewardship to meet customer commitments while optimizing capacity, materials, and cost.

  • Planning & Scheduling: Lead daily and weekly production schedules balancing demand, inventory targets, and efficiency.
  • Demand & Supply Alignment: Integrate sales forecasts, finance, and ERP data to drive accurate plans and mitigate risks.
  • Inventory & Data Integrity: Maintain target raw material and finished goods levels and ensure ERP accuracy with reporting visibility.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Integrate sales orders, forecasts, and business priorities into the Master Production Schedule, coordinating raw materials, equipment, labor, and capacity to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Analyze risks and constraints within the Master Production Schedule, including manufacturing lead times, labor availability, equipment capacity, and material supply, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Work closely with Sales and Finance to align on forecast plans
  • Maintain raw material and finished goods inventory at target levels to ensure high service levels
  • Ensure ERP accuracy across planning and inventory transactions; improve data quality, planning processes, and reporting visibility to support strong decision-making.
  • Identify inventory reduction opportunities which can translate into projects which deliver a specific savings amount
  • Support inventory accuracy activities including periodic inventory counts and auditing
  • Lead the production planning team in developing and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules that balance customer requirements, inventory targets, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyze, organize, record and publish weekly and/or monthly graphs for planning and purchasing key performance metric indicators
  • Lead short- and long-term planning strategy for the department, ensuring alignment with company goals and operational capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, business administration or a related field required
  • MBA preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in materials management, manufacturing, operations, or hardware development
  • Strong planning background in the materials, manufacturing and engineering environment
  • Forecasting and inventory management skills. Extremely proficient with establishing planning parameters (MOQ, safety stock, reorder points, etc.)
  • Experience developing succinct, crisp executive summaries and presenting to leadership
  • Results oriented - has a track record for delivering results, takes ownership and is accountable
  • Experience using MRP / ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred)
  • Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to clearly express oneself verbally and in writing in the English language. Communicate effectively with employees and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
