Support Steel Sports’ marketing and communications efforts through content creation, social media, events, and promotional materials.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting press releases, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Coordinate communication efforts with coaches, parents, and athletes to ensure timely dissemination of information.
  • Support the development of internal and external communication strategies.
  • Assist in writing blog pieces for websites.
  • Assist in preparing content for Lasorda Way app.
  • Manage and update social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) to increase engagement and brand awareness.
  • Create compelling content, including graphics, videos, and posts, to showcase our programs, events, and success stories.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and opportunities to engage with our audience.
  • Design eye-catching graphics, banners, flyers, and digital assets for marketing campaigns and events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visually appealing materials that align with brand guidelines and messaging.

Requirements

  • Be responsible, flexible, hard-working, ethical, and committed to the mission of Steel Sports.
  • Be able to start on or around May 25, 2026.
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and experience managing organizational accounts.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and willingness to learn new tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to commit to a minimum of 20 per week for the duration of the internship.
  • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
  • A commitment to improving conditions and providing opportunities for all youth.
