Job Summary

Own Campus Rec social content from idea to publish, using events and campaigns as fuel, while keeping on-brand visuals and calendars in sync with the team.

  • Content Creation: gather ideas, write captions, and produce posts, stories, and campaigns for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X.
  • Media & Scheduling: capture media on-site, design quick visuals, and schedule posts with Metricool across all platforms.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Gather content and develop ideas for social media posts, stories, and campaigns based on department events, programs, and initiatives
  • Capture photo and video content as needed during programs and events
  • Write engaging, brand-aligned captions for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X
  • Design simple, effective graphics using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Schedule and manage social media posts using Metricool across all Campus Rec platforms
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure content meets departmental standards
  • Maintain consistency with Campus Rec’s visual identity and messaging
  • Support special campaigns, awareness weeks, and themed content as needed
  • Attend mandatory team meetings and trainings
  • Communicate regularly with professional staff regarding deadlines, ideas, and progress

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school
  • Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term
  • Enrollment includes the period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled and the one off term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience with or interest in social media content creation
  • Familiarity with at least one design platform, such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Availability to attend events or programs for content gathering

Preferred

  • Previous experience managing social media accounts
  • Knowledge of social media trends, analytics, and platform best practices
  • Experience using scheduling platforms like Metricool or Hootsuite
  • Photography and/or videography skills
