Responsibilities

• Front desk and admin — greet clients and set the tone for a calm, professional front desk
• Answer calls, texts, and messages clearly and promptly, and return voicemails daily
• Book, confirm, and reschedule appointments, and keep the day's flow on track
• Handle checkout, payments, and client questions about services and policies
• Keep consent forms, client files, and front desk materials organized and correctly filed
• Support management with daily admin tasks, ordering, and salon logistics
• Follow written procedures accurately and flag problems early rather than letting them sit
• Shoot photo and video of services, results, and the salon during the workday
• Edit reels and short-form video in Canva
• Design flyers, promotional graphics, and in-salon signage to our brand standards

Requirements

• Demonstrated creative ability — you must submit work samples to be considered (see below)
• Genuine interest in social media, content creation, design, or photography and video
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented — you show up on time and finish what you start
• Comfortable multitasking in a busy salon environment
• Able to follow detailed written instructions and respond to email promptly
• Available evenings Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and Friday daytime
• Able to work as part of a small team and speak up when something needs attention
• 18 years or older, with reliable transportation to Bowie, MD
• Able to stand, move around the salon, and lift up to 20 lbs during a shift, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred

• Canva experience, especially video editing
• Experience running or contributing to a social media account, personal or professional
• Receptionist, front desk, admin, customer service, retail, or hospitality experience
• Salon, spa, or beauty industry experience
• Comfort being on camera, or directing someone who is
