Own the end-to-end social media program for United Way Blackhawk Region, leading strategy, content creation, publishing, community engagement, and data-driven optimization across platforms; collaborate with PR and community impact teams to protect brand and advance impact in Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, and TikTok to bring the United is the Way story to life and grow brand awareness in our community.
  • Maintain UWBR website with compelling and up-to-date content.
  • Create high-quality content, including graphics, videos, photography, and written posts, that aligns with United Way brand guidelines and communicates our mission with a voice that is honest, clear, and confident.
  • Manage social media scheduling tools like Hootsuite or Buffer to ensure consistent posting and timely, authentic responses to community members, donors, and volunteers.
  • Monitor social listening tools to gauge community sentiment, identify trends, and respond proactively to inquiries or feedback in a way that builds trust in our mission.
  • Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for media editing and graphic design to produce visually compelling, on-brand content that inspires action.
  • Analyze media performance using analytics tools like Google Analytics and social media insights to optimize campaigns and report on engagement, reach, and impact.
  • Coordinate with public relations and community impact teams to manage brand reputation, craft press releases, and facilitate media outreach that advances our work in Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency.
  • Conduct keyword research for SEO purposes and integrate findings into content creation to improve visibility for our mission and campaigns.
  • Oversee paid advertising campaigns on Facebook Advertising and other platforms to maximize reach, grow our donor and volunteer base, and drive measurable ROI.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in social media management, digital marketing, or related roles, with a strong portfolio of successful, mission-driven campaigns.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer.
  • Skilled in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is essential.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, Google Analytics, web analytics tools, and marketing analytics.
  • Ability to create engaging content through writing, photography, video editing, and media editing tools that reflects United Way's voice: thoughtful, purposeful, and clear.
  • Familiarity with social listening techniques and community-centered social media communication strategies.
  • Experience managing paid advertising campaigns on Facebook Advertising or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data from various sources for performance monitoring.
  • Excellent relationship management skills for collaborating across teams, including PR, creative, community impact, and resource development.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and fidelity to brand.
