Social Media Manager (WFH)

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and publish content across Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
• Produce short-form videos, Reels, Stories, graphics, carousels, flyers, and other social media assets.
• Turn raw footage from rallies, events, interviews, webinars, speeches, and news appearances into engaging short-form videos.
• Repurpose longer videos and other materials into multiple pieces of content for different platforms.
• Develop promotional content for rallies, events, webinars, advocacy campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and other organizational activities.
• Write clear, compelling captions, headlines, calls to action, and other social media copy.
• Maintain a consistent content calendar and publish content regularly at a high volume.
• Adapt content to each platform's format, audience, and tone rather than relying on identical cross-posts.
• Respond quickly to breaking news, litigation developments, rallies, and other time-sensitive opportunities.
• Manage comments, direct messages, mentions, tags, and other audience interactions across social media accounts.

Requirements

• At least three years of hands-on experience managing social media accounts and creating content.
• Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging short-form videos and social graphics.
• Experience adapting long-form content for short-form social media.
• Working knowledge of Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
• Understanding of social media analytics, performance metrics, and audience growth.
• Ability to work independently, respond quickly, and manage multiple accounts and competing priorities.
• A portfolio demonstrating personally created social media content.
• Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. Please include examples of work you personally created, such as short-form videos, Reels or TikToks, graphics, carousels, event promotions, rally or webinar materials, flyers, repurposed long-form videos, and social media campaigns.
• Please also provide links to social media accounts you have personally managed and include the approximate follower count during the period you managed each account.

Preferred

• Experience personally managing a social media account with 100,000 or more followers is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with nonprofit, advocacy, legal, political, media, or movement-based organizations is a plus, but not required.
