  • Calendar Management: Own the monthly content calendar, ensuring a consistent and strategic flow of posts that highlight institutional priorities, from artist spotlights to our hospitality offerings.
  • Community Management: Act as the digital voice of Canyon. Monitor comments, foster conversations, and manage inbound inquiries to build a vibrant, inclusive online community that feels like an extension of our physical venue.
  • On-Site Capturing: Be the "eyes and ears" on the ground, using iPhones, DSLRs, and gimbals to capture the build-up to our opening, live performances, and the unique energy of our Lower East Side location.

  • Influencer & Partner Support: Help identify and coordinate with digital creators, artists, and nightlife influencers to expand Canyon's reach to new and diverse audiences.
  • Trend Spotting: Stay informed with the latest platform updates and cultural trends, quickly translating them into actionable ideas that keep Canyon relevant.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Art History, Communications, or a related field.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio or "reel" of social media work that demonstrates your creativity and technical execution.
  • Communication: Exceptional writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different platforms.
  • Digital Storytelling: A proven ability to tell a story in 15 seconds or less. You understand the "hook, meat, and payoff" of successful social content, especially within the realms of video, performance, and sound-based art.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in mobile video editing (CapCut, InShot, or Adobe Premiere Rush), social management tools (Sprout Social, Asana), and Meta Business Suite.
  • Eye for Detail: High aesthetic standards for photography and video, with the ability to use lighting and sound equipment to produce professional-grade social assets that match our state-of-the-art venue.
  • Agility & Proactivity: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can pivot when news breaks, and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a high-energy creative team.
  • Cultural Fluency: A genuine passion for the arts and an understanding of the intersection between the non-profit world and New York City's social/nightlife landscape.

Benefits

  • medical, dental, and vision insurance; life, AD&D, long-term disability, and short-term disability insurance; a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account; a 401(k) retirement account with a matching contribution; and tuition reimbursement.
