Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage SEO strategies for client accounts, incorporating local SEO, technical SEO, content recommendations, and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and AI search opportunities
- Translate client business goals into measurable SEO objectives and quarterly roadmaps
- Collaborate with the Marketing Strategist to align SEO plans with broader marketing strategies
- Monitor search algorithm updates, AI search developments, and local search trends relevant to the tree care industry
- Maintain current SEO strategies for all assigned clients and conduct quarterly roadmap reviews
- Personally manage approximately 5–10 client accounts, with portfolio size depending on account complexity
- Conduct local and technical SEO audits, Google Business Profile optimizations, citation cleanup, on-page recommendations, and performance reporting
- Prioritize complex, high-value, or at-risk accounts
- Use hands-on client work to inform team standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training
- Ensure assigned accounts meet their individual performance targets
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on SEO experience
- At least 2 years of experience managing or mentoring SEO team members
- Ability to execute SEO work directly in addition to leading a team
- Advanced proficiency in local SEO strategy and implementation
- Advanced experience managing Google Business Profiles at scale, including multi-location businesses
- Advanced understanding of technical SEO fundamentals, including site architecture, indexation, schema, and Core Web Vitals
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AEO and AI search optimization, including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity
- Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console
- Advanced experience with citation and review management tools such as BrightLocal or equivalent platforms
- Advanced proficiency in third-party SEO tools, including Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Screaming Frog
Preferred
- Digital marketing agency experience is strongly preferred
- Experience working with tree care businesses, home services, or other local service businesses is a significant advantage
