Implement global process improvements to enhance marketing effectiveness
Collaborate with senior leadership to align marketing strategies with business goals
Provide thought leadership and expertise in marketing best practices
Two-Sided Product Strategy & Positioning: Develop and refine positioning, messaging, and value propositions for Venmo’s Commerce products — speaking distinctly and credibly to both the micro sellers and solopreneurs who run their business through Venmo, and the customers who discover and support them.
Go-to-Market Leadership Across the Seller Lifecycle: Lead the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for Commerce, building marketing around how small business owners actually operate, including product launches, feature updates, and ongoing marketing campaigns to drive awareness, consideration, adoption, and growth.
Market Insights & Competitive Analysis: Bring firsthand fluency in both sides of this two-sided marketplace — the small, often one-person business, and consumers discovering, following, and being loyal to small businesses in their community. Partner with Consumer Insights on market research and competitive analyses to inform product development and marketing strategies, staying ahead of industry trends to identify new opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Commercial, Design, Consumer Insights, and other key Commerce partners to align on product vision, roadmap, and market needs. Act as the voice of the customer in product development discussions.

Requirements

8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
You have 8-10 years of product marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within tech, fintech, or consumer digital products.
Direct experience marketing to small businesses, sellers, or merchants: ideally within a two-sided marketplace, commerce platform, or local/social commerce business.
Strong understanding of, and demonstrated ability to market to, two distinct audiences at once: sellers and consumers, with messaging tailored to each.
Proven track record of successfully launching and growing digital products in a highly competitive market.
Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of market research, data analysis, and customer insights.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex product features into clear, compelling messaging.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
People management experience, with a vested interest in setting more junior team members up for short and long-term career success.
