Job Description

Responsibilities

  • This position leads the planning, development, and execution of strategic marketing initiatives that support dealer technician growth plans and help dealers deliver the right technician, at the right time, to provide a superior customer service experience.
  • Align Marketing Strategy to Technician Growth Priorities
  • Partner with Technician Growth Consultants and program owners to align marketing strategy, communication priorities, and dealer-facing messaging to technician growth objectives.
  • Develop and execute campaigns that help dealers activate programs, strengthen technician pipelines, close capability gaps, and support workforce capacity needs.
  • Lead awareness efforts that elevate the technician profession and strengthen Caterpillar’s employment value proposition.
  • Coordinate with Global Dealer Learning’s multimedia team to develop photo, video, and digital assets that support campaign execution and dealer engagement.
  • Define communication plans and performance indicators to measure campaign effectiveness and business impact.
  • Global Dealer Technician Challenge (GDTC) Ownership
  • Serve as the global program owner for the Global Dealer Technician Challenge (GDTC), with responsibility for strategic planning, governance, budget management, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead all aspects of a global technician competition across the full three-year competition cycle, requiring sustained ownership and a three-year commitment to remain in the role from upfront planning through final event execution.

Requirements

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or within lieu of a degree 5 years of experience is acceptable
  • Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Creativity: Knowledge of the approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and ability to apply it to a variety of business situations.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
  • Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).
  • Promotion and Marketing Communications: Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.

Preferred

  • Experience developing and executing enterprise-level marketing and communications strategies that drive adoption,
  • engagement, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success managing global programs, campaigns, or strategic initiatives involving multiple stakeholders,
  • business units, budgets, and timelines.
  • Experience leading large-scale events, competitions, recognition programs, or workforce development initiatives.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Experience managing complex program budgets and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar’s dealer network, Global Dealer Learning priorities, and technician workforce development initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with external agencies, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Experience coordinating multimedia content development, including photo, video, and digital assets used to support marketing campaigns and program adoption.
