Job Description

Own media relations strategy for a premier firm, translating complex legal wins into news and shaping executive visibility across growth practices.

  • Lead strategic PR campaigns to build the firm's profile in Private Equity, M&A, Asset Management, Life Sciences, and Health Care
  • Write and edit press releases, briefing sheets, holding statements, and media pitches
  • Serve as a key point of contact for inbound media inquiries
  • Partner with the Director of Communications to manage complex issues and provide crisis communications guidance
  • Translate complex legal outcomes into clear, newsworthy content for business, legal, and trade media
  • Cultivate relationships with national and international journalists and media outlets
  • Position firm attorneys as go-to sources and stay current on trending topics for media engagement
  • Prepare and coach leaders ahead of media interviews; provide proactive counsel on communications strategies
  • Develop and deliver media training workshops and messaging frameworks
  • Secure speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities for firm attorneys
  • Source and place partner-authored bylined articles and legal alerts
  • Lead, mentor, and develop communications colleagues, including direct management of the PR Manager and PR Specialist
  • Collaborate with external PR agencies, oversee budgets, and set KPIs to maximize ROI
  • Ensure brand voice consistency across all PR efforts in line with guidelines
  • Establish performance reporting using AI-enabled monitoring and predictive analytics
  • Track PR impact and provide quarterly leadership-ready reports
  • Collaborate across Marketing & Business Development to create integrated communications strategies
  • Oversee technology, tools, and media databases to drive efficiency
  • Foster a collaborative team culture and professional development for direct reports
  • Build relationships with journalists across print, broadcast, and digital platforms
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the PR team to align with department goals
  • Maintain consistency of messaging with brand guidelines and objectives
  • Track effectiveness of campaigns and prepare detailed quarterly reports for executives
