Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects, day-to-day. You’ll play a central role in each engagement, coordinating with senior and junior staff as well as other internal teams to ensure projects run efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop messaging and research materials. We know that words matter and value strong writers who can articulate ideas clearly and compellingly. You’ll wear a lot of hats – from drafting narratives to designing research discussion guides and quantitative surveys.
  • Uncover insights. You’ll analyze and synthesize data, turning what we heard in qualitative and quantitative research into meaningful insights that help our clients achieve their business objectives.
  • Moderate and facilitate. You’ll lead research groups and interviews, creating dynamic conversations that uncover what audiences think, feel, and the why behind it. Alongside other senior team members, you’ll also facilitate client workshops and brainstorms.
  • Engage with clients. From leading status calls and answering client questions to presenting recommendations, you’ll work directly with clients who view you as a strategic, consultative partner.
  • Delegate and mentor. You’ll delegate to junior team members, while also mentoring and guiding them. You’ll serve as the point of contact with cross-functional teams (quant, field operations, media) to ensure effective project execution.

Requirements

  • Strong critical thinking and persuasive communication skills. You understand how to analyze problems, synthesize information into meaningful insights, and turn insights into strategies, narratives, and arguments that are clear, concise, and compelling.
  • Experience with strategic communication challenges. The right experience can come from a lot of places, but it’s likely to come from four to six years of work as an agency strategic planner, brand marketer, corporate communicator, political campaign strategist, pollster, market researcher, linguist, or behavioral scientist. You’ve learned a lot along the way and can apply insights and perspectives to new challenges.
  • Experience with qualitative/quantitative research methodologies. If you have experience conducting market research, that’s great. We welcome varied research experience – as a client, agency, or otherwise – but you should be comfortable working with, organizing, and making sense of data.
  • A passion for personal and business growth. You are intellectually curious and deeply empathetic. Confident yet coachable – and eager to both give and receive constructive feedback. Ambitious and highly collaborative. Eager to do your best and wow clients. We are looking for a rare blend of qualities that will help ensure that you fit in – and help us stand out.
  • A belief in the power of language. You recognize how the right language changes how brands and issues are perceived. You can recognize effective use of language and framing and notice things like tone and word choice. You have a point of view on what brands and public figures say, and importantly, how they say it.
  • A high bar for what good looks like. You’re a self-starter and you take ownership. You don’t feel good delivering something unless you feel you’ve done your best work.
  • Enthusiasm and proactivity. You’re a dedicated team player passionate about serving clients and delivering great work. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to changing client needs, working across multiple projects, and delivering under tight deadlines.

Preferred

  • You’re always learning. We work across industries – from pharma and financial services to energy and tech, take on diverse challenges, and use a range of methodologies and approaches to deliver value for our clients.
  • You’ll be challenged and grow. We’ll make you a stronger strategic thinker, a better writer, and a more confident presenter, as part of a culture focused on feedback and a commitment to personal growth.
  • You’ll have a good time. We do serious work but never take ourselves too seriously. Lots of work and lots of fun to help you stay energized and engaged.

Benefits

  • a range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and other benefits also are available.
