Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Writing persuasive, audience-focused copy for Direct mail and print materials
  • Digital ads and landing pages
  • Email fundraising campaigns
  • Text messaging (SMS/MMS) programs
  • Website content
  • Adapting messaging to align with campaign strategy, audience segments, and client goals
  • Collaborating closely with designers, account teams, and strategists to ensure cohesive creative execution
  • Producing high-quality work under tight deadlines, sometimes within hours
  • Proofreading and editing for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to AP style and client guidelines
  • Supporting extended hours during peak election periods, as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional copywriting experience in communications, marketing, journalism, political work, or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong command of grammar and AP style
  • Sharp proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Comfort working in deadline-driven, high-pressure environments
  • Ability to write in multiple tones and brand voices

Preferred

  • Experience writing for political campaigns, PACs, advocacy groups, or election-related initiatives
  • Background in political communications or journalism
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com)
  • Prior experience and knowledge of political industry
