  • Build relationships with moderators and plan AMAs

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage verified Reddit Pro accounts for multiple Static Media brands
  • Note: All activity happens on clearly identified brand accounts. We don’t use personal or alt accounts to promote our content, we never ask anyone to upvote or coordinate engagement, and we follow Reddit’s Content Policy and each community’s rules, including when a community doesn’t want brand participation at all.
  • Develop a Reddit strategy and distinct brand voice for each publication, identifying relevant communities and opportunities for meaningful participation
  • Write helpful, on-voice comments and replies in relevant subreddits, using our coverage to answer real questions
  • Share articles, scoops, and reviews with Reddit-friendly titles and context, following each community’s rules
  • Use Reddit Pro tools (Links, keyword tracking, community insights) to find conversations and track how our content performs
  • Build transparent relationships with subreddit moderators and coordinate approvals for AMAs and recurring threads
  • Help plan and run AMAs with our writers and editors
  • Flag sensitive threads, corrections, and community issues to the editorial team quickly
  • Monitor Reddit conversations to identify emerging trends, audience interests, and potential story ideas, sharing actionable insights with our editorial teams

Requirements

  • Deep, firsthand knowledge of Reddit: its culture, unwritten rules, self-promotion norms, and what gets a brand account downvoted or banned
  • An active Reddit history (personal or managed professionally) that you’re comfortable sharing privately to evaluate tone and voice (not for use in sharing or posting)
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to switch between distinct brand voices with confidence
  • Sound judgment about when to post, when to comment, and when to stay out of a thread
  • Self-directed and organized; able to manage several brands at once without close supervision
  • Comfortable working with editors and following a brand’s guidelines

Preferred

  • Experience leading a brand voice or managing social media for a publisher or media brand
  • Background as a writer, editor, or journalist
  • Knowledge of or passion for one or more of our beats: consumer tech, cars, TV and entertainment, or cooking
  • Experience organizing Reddit AMAs or moderating a subreddit
