Job Description

Lead public affairs activities for NGA, covering content creation, media relations, and strategic event support at a senior level.

  • Content Development & Execution: Develop, execute, and publish a high volume of public affairs deliverables written in AP Style with minimal errors.
  • Media Relations & Strategy: Manage media activities, including talking points, staff prep, releases, and proactive story pitching.
  • Digital Media Management: Create tailored content for social platforms with analytics on NGA.mil and related outputs.
  • Strategic Communications: Lead planning for agency initiatives and ensure up-to-date bios and org charts.
  • Outreach & Event Support: Provide public affairs support for conferences, outreach, and high-level external events with multi-audience materials.
  • Engagement: Support high-level visits and NGA leadership engagements with prep materials, briefings, and planning three days prior to events.
  • Internal Collaboration & Oversight: Copy editing, QA, and coordination of public affairs logs and meetings.
  • Requirements: U.S. citizenship; active TS/SCI clearance; bachelor’s degree or 8+ years alternative experience; DoW training preferred.
  • Content Creation: Demonstrated ability to write and produce content for websites, social media, and internal communications.
  • Event Support: Experience coordinating logistics for public events, meetings, or conferences.
