Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own the marketing function and deliver qualified leads to our sales team.
  • Plan and run campaigns across email, social media, paid advertising and the website.
  • Manage paid advertising budgets and track and report on what's working.
  • Write and produce content for an audience that knows aviation, including product pages, articles, customer stories and email campaigns.
  • Produce our product and lifestyle imagery, building the photo library that feeds the website, campaigns and sales material.
  • Run our presence at trade shows and industry events: planning and logistics, conversations on the stand, and the follow-up afterwards.
  • Keep the website current as products, pricing and specifications change.
  • Build relationships with flight schools, training organizations, aircraft owners and the wider pilot community.

Requirements

  • Experience working in aviation, such as aircraft sales, flight training, FBO or airport operations, charter, avionics, maintenance or aviation media. This is essential, because the people you'll be talking to are pilots and flight schools.
  • Experience with marketing activity of some kind, and the appetite to get hands-on across email, social media, paid advertising and the website.
  • The ability to write clearly and accurately for a knowledgeable audience.
  • Confidence representing a company in person, whether at a trade show or on the phone.
  • Comfort maintaining website content and picking up new software tools.
  • You're organized and self-directed, and you follow things through.
  • You're based in San Diego or willing to relocate, since this role is on-site.
  • You're willing to travel for industry events and customer visits.

Preferred

  • A pilot certificate, progress toward one as a student pilot, or a flight instructor rating
  • Hands-on experience running email, social and paid advertising campaigns, and measuring the results
  • Hands-on experience with flight simulators or training devices
  • Experience with HubSpot, Klaviyo, Shopify or similar CRM, email and e-commerce platforms
  • Photography and video editing skills, including product and lifestyle work
  • Experience marketing or selling technical products to a technical audience
  • Familiarity with how flight schools and training organizations buy and approve equipment
