Job Summary

Own content creation and social media for a Catholic independent high school, shaping stories across web, print, and video while upholding brand and mission.

  • Own multi-channel content: newsletters, website updates, and social media with a focus on student stories and community impact.
  • Manage photo and video production and asset libraries, including event coverage and short-form videos for marketing use.
  • Collaborate with campus teams to ensure consistent brand, messaging, and timely promotions for events and initiatives.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and format content for weekly parent newsletter, website updates, and social media
  • Assist in drafting school announcements, invitation language, and other school communications
  • Support storytelling by developing compelling stories for the web and print that highlight Marymount’s students, academic programming, co-curriculars, and community impact (this will require attending classes, student events, and more)
  • Capture and edit photos and videos at school events and programs
  • Produce short-form video and visual content for social media and marketing use
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining photo and video assets
  • Portrait photography of all sports teams and travel to at least one competition event per sport per season
  • Design graphics and marketing materials for events, programs, and school initiatives
  • Create flyers, invitations, digital signage, banners, and promotional assets for use across platforms and media
  • Follow established brand guidelines to ensure visual consistency
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, photography, digital media, or a related field
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with an acute attention to detail
  • Experience creating content across email, web, social media, and print
  • Strong photography skills, including experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras
  • Experience with video editing and short-form content creation preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign and Illustrator), Google Workspace, Office Suites, macOS operating system, and related applications
  • Familiarity with website content management systems (currently using Blackbaud)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrates a collaborative, flexible, and proactive approach to work, and contributes to a positive, energetic, and supportive team culture
Preferred
  • Experience in an independent school or mission-driven organization preferred
  • Understanding of Marymount High School’s Catholic-Independent identity and mission (preferred)
  • Familiarity with school communications platforms and brand guidelines (preferred)
