Foot Locker is seeing a collaborative and proactive Internal Communications Specialist to help deliver communications that inspire, inform, and connect. This role plays a key part in how we communicate across the company, supporting initiatives and campaigns that drive understanding of business priorities, reinforce culture, and contribute to a strong teammate experience.

In a fast-paced, creative, and data-informed environment, this individual contributor helps execute internal communications strategies and programs aligned to company goals. A strong storyteller with a growth mindset, this role brings curiosity, adaptability, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Partnering closely with the Internal Communications team, the Specialist supports the development and delivery of integrated communication initiatives that drive engagement and consistency across channels. This includes contributing to campaigns, managing key deliverables, helping maintain the editorial calendar, and developing internal messaging and presentations.

The Internal Communications Specialist position is based in the New York City area.

Responsibilities

  • Write and publish engaging content for internal communication channels, including intranet content, employee emails, newsletters, and other platforms.
  • Support the maintenance of the internal editorial calendar in partnership with the Manager, Internal Communications, helping to coordinate priorities and ensure timely delivery of communications.
  • Maintain internal communication platforms and tools, ensuring content is current, accessible, and aligned with established standards.
  • Execute multichannel internal communication plans that support functional and enterprise initiatives, aligned with Foot Locker’s mission, values, and business priorities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather information, develop messaging, and ensure communications are clear, consistent, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Monitor communication performance using feedback, metrics, and analytics, and recommend opportunities to improve messaging and channel effectiveness.
  • Coordinate internal campaigns and employee engagement moments that celebrate achievements, recognize teammates, and reinforce company culture.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of enterprise-wide events and initiatives, including Town Halls, Team Weeks, and milestone announcements, in partnership with the Senior Manager.
  • Collaborate across the Internal Communications team to deliver high-quality work while contributing to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop authentic storytelling that reflects Foot Locker’s heritage, values, and connection to sport, sneaker, and youth culture.
  • Stay informed on internal communications best practices and emerging trends to help enhance employee engagement and the overall communications experience.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Communications experience preferred
  • Strong POV on teammates as an audience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Top-notch organization, coordination, and project management skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills
  • Understanding of data, metrics, performance, and analytics – both for storytelling and decision-making purposes
  • A professional and positive attitude
  • Driven, self-starter, adaptable, and flexible

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $67,000 - $70,000 /yr. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position.  Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below:
