Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Founder as SISU and join the West Coast office
  • Develop and implement media relations strategies for clients.
  • Pitch stories to journalists and editors
  • Secure media placements for clients in top-tier publications, podcasts, events, TV, etc., across tech and finance sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and editors.
  • Monitor media coverage of clients and provide feedback.
  • Support content creation, especially across social media (LinkedIn, X, and Instagram).
  • Think through how media can be distributed to elevate a company or firm's brand presence.

Requirements

  • Existing media relationships. You’re deeply embedded in the tech press landscape and have many close contacts.
  • Fluency in tech, finance, VC, and startups . Deep understanding and keen interest in the technology landscape, startup operations, venture capital, and financial analysis.
  • Strategic tactician. Ability to see the big picture, anticipate challenges, and develop innovative solutions while also executing them.
  • Exceptional communicator. Outstanding written and verbal skills; able to distill complex ideas into clear, persuasive narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Media sponge. Proven track record of tracking the changing landscape and getting press results - whether traditional media, new media, or other emerging platforms.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit. Proactive self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, adapts quickly, and is energized by the pace and unpredictability of startup life. Willingness to work odd hours, but with high autonomy.
