Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Brand & Creative
  • - Own the agency’s brand identity and ensure consistency across all channels and materials.
  • - Translate brand standards into practical templates, toolkits, and internal resources.
  • - Personally create and produce high-quality written and visual content.
  • - Manage and evolve existing campaign and organizational collateral as needs and audiences change.
  • - Oversee design and production partners when specialized expertise or additional capacity is needed.
  • Content & Storytelling
  • - Write and design newsletters, impact reports, Board communications, donor materials, presentations, event content, and success stories.
  • - Develop compelling stories that demonstrate our impact and inspire people to engage with our mission.
  • - Capture and edit photography and short-form video and coordinate professional production for larger projects.

Requirements

  • Bring at least seven years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, including at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Are an exceptional writer, storyteller, editor, and proofreader.
  • Have strong graphic design and content-production skills, with proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Have experience managing websites, social media, email marketing, and digital analytics.
  • Have established relationships with Houston media and a demonstrated record of generating earned media.
  • Have experience implementing a rebrand or significant brand rollout.
  • Can move seamlessly between strategy and execution.
  • Are highly organized and able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Are resourceful and comfortable being the strategist, writer, designer, and project manager—sometimes all in the same day.
  • Have excellent judgment and understand the importance of protecting and strengthening an organization’s brand and reputation.

Preferred

  • Nonprofit experience is strongly preferred.
