Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development, planning, optimization, and performance of all Team USA content across the fan ecosystem.
  • The Director will be responsible for defining what stories Team USA tells, where they are distributed, how they are optimized, and how they contribute to fan growth and business objectives.
  • Reporting to the Senior Director, Content & Product, this roleleadsthe content development function, translating the broader content vision into actionable plans, content roadmaps, and development priorities.
  • The Director will oversee content strategy, content intelligence and performance, and editorial planning efforts while partnering closely withthe ContentProduction, Lifecycle, Insights, Marketing, and Commercial teams to maximize the impact of Team USA storytelling across all owned and operated channels and platforms.
  • Content Strategy & Vision: Lead the development and execution of Team USA's holistic content strategy across all audience-facing platforms, including social media platforms, TeamUSA.com, mobile applications, Team USA TV, and future digital experiences.
  • Develop a long-term content vision that aligns with organizational priorities, fan growth objectives, and commercial goals.
  • Establish annual content themes, franchise opportunities, editorial priorities, and storytelling frameworks to guide content planning efforts.
  • Create a comprehensive content roadmap across Olympics, Paralympics, athlete storytelling, tentpole events, and cultural moments.
  • Identify emerging trends and audience opportunities that can strength the impact and relevance of Team USA content. Ensure all content investments align to measurable audience and business outcomes.
  • Storyline Development & Editorial Leadership: Lead the development of Team USA's storytelling strategy and editorial vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in content strategy, media, audience development, entertainment, sports, or digital publishing
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-platform content organizations
  • Strong expertise in social, digital publishing, streaming, FAST, and longform content ecosystems
  • Experience developing original content franchises and serialized storytelling
  • Proven track record using audience analytics and performance insights to inform content decisions
  • Experience managing substantial content budgets and external partners
  • Strong understanding of sports, media, and entertainment industries
  • Strong knowledge of content performance analytics and audience insights
