Own content strategy and optimization for university pages and program landing pages while aligning with campus partners to maintain accuracy and drive organic growth.

Content ownership: Manage web content across university pages, blogs, and program sites to lift engagement and conversions.
SEO & analytics: Lead keyword research, on-page optimization, site performance tracking, and actionable improvements.
Collaboration & training: Coordinate with departments and train editors to ensure consistent, usable web experiences.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain engaging, search-optimized web content that supports university marketing efforts.
Collaborate with departments across campus to update key webpages and ensure content accuracy.
Oversee the development and optimization of academic program landing pages to improve engagement and conversion.
Support marketing operations by creating landing page content for paid campaigns as needed.
Manage Ferris360 (student/employee portal), internal communications, ensuring critical updates reach students and employees.
Contribute to SEO strategy, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and site performance tracking.
Track and analyze organic search performance and make recommendations for improvements.
Develop and manage blog and long-form content to drive organic traffic growth.
Provide training for new website editors to ensure consistency and usability across the university website.
Collaborate with web developers to develop landing pages and website features.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
2+ years of professional experience (including internships) in website content creation, SEO strategy, and/or digital communications.
Hands-on experience with web content management systems (Omni CMS, WordPress, Drupal, or similar).
Strong understanding of SEO best practices, keyword tracking, and content optimization.
Experience writing and managing web content, blogs, and long-form digital content.

Preferred

Experience with Google Analytics and/or other digital analytics platforms
Experience with Slate and/or other customer relationship management platforms (CRM)
Experience working in higher education marketing.
Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO research tools (SEMrush, etc).
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and accessibility best practices (WCAG, ADA compliance).
