Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Cultivates productive working relationships with community stakeholders including local businesses, attractions, and government partners to advance support of Destin-Fort Walton Beach programs and priorities.
  • Serves as primary liaison for the pilot programs; collaborates directly with charter captains, tour operators and other tourism partners to ensure effective participation and execution of pilot programs.
  • Oversees development of program materials, website content, video production and advertising.
  • Coordinates the rollout, testing, and promotion of new mobile apps and websites, working with developers, marketing staff and program participants to optimize usability and engagement.
  • Assists in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of local business participants and contracted staff.
  • Oversees operational workflows, inventory, and asset management of pilot programs to ensure program efficiency.
  • Collects and analyzes feedback and performance metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinates with Marketing and Coastal Resources teams to identify and create relevant content which promotes program activities and sustainability goals.
  • Represents Destin-Fort Walton Beach at conferences, community meetings, trade shows, and stakeholder events; delivers presentations as needed.
  • Performs administrative duties, including filling purchasing orders, tracking expenses, reconciling payments, and maintaining records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related field
  • two (2) years of marketing, education and outreach, web management, or tourism development experience
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Requires a valid driver license

Preferred

  • Experience with mobile apps and website management is preferred
  • Experience in tourism, destination marketing or outdoor recreation/marine industry is preferred
  • Public speaking experience is preferred
