Job Description

Title: Deputy Communications Director
Overview: The Deputy Communications Director is a supervisory position that helps lead the planning and execution of the DSCC’s communications strategies and manage the communications department’s press staff and workflow.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the Committee and a point of media contact.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with national reporters.

  • Shape media coverage of Senate races, the DSCC and specific candidates.

  • Work with the communications director to build and execute communications plans.

  • Manage and oversee other members of the Committee’s press team.

  • Work across departments to execute the DSCC’s overall communications strategies, including approving materials used by other DSCC departments.

  • Support the communications work of the DSCC Chair and Vice Chairs.

  • Work with partner organizations, surrogates and principals on communications needs relating to Senate races.

The salary for this position is $120,000.
This position is based in DC. This position is expected to work out of the DSCC office located on Capitol Hill.
