Job Summary

Own and evolve the campus social media program by shaping strategy, content creation, and coordinated campaigns that engage diverse audiences and promote events, while monitoring impact and trends.

  • Develop and integrate cross-department campaigns to amplify campus events and initiatives.
  • Produce ongoing content across channels and optimize based on metrics and audience signals.
  • Coordinate collateral, editorial calendars, and timely posts to keep campus messaging fresh and visible.

Job Description

Responsibilities - Develops and executes a social media strategy for the College with input from multiple departments. - Produces content across social media channels. - Develops, launches, manages, and integrates social media campaigns. - Coordinates the development of collateral with departments for use within social media posts. - Monitors the impact of public media by tracking metrics and analyzing the effectiveness of campaigns. - Monitors and responds to conversations and keeps key stakeholders informed of trends and topics of interest. - Researches sources and current events to use on public media networks. - Distributes promotional material throughout the College. - Maintains editorial calendar for key public media initiatives to provide fresh and engaging content on a daily basis. - Identifies ways to promote campus events by media visibility and enhance its reputation through innovative use of public media. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience in public media platforms; or Associate's degree from an accredited institution and four (4) years of related experience in public media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and blogs or YouTube. - Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment. - Ability to think strategically and creatively. - Ability to demonstrate good judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive topics. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), database and technical applications specific to department area. - Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff. - Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments. - Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within 6 months of hire.
