Job Summary

Own the developer focused content flywheel across organic and earned channels, turning technical stories into multi-format narratives while aligning with PR, demand generation, and employee advocacy programs.

  • Drive social strategy, content creation, and community engagement for a technical audience
  • Coordinate launches, PR, and advocacy initiatives with cross-functional partners

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Organic Social Growing our organic presence across the social channels where developers spend time: LinkedIn and X daily, with a deliberate footprint on Reddit, Hacker News, Discord, YouTube, and emerging platforms, adapting voice to each and using judgment about when the brand should speak and when it should stay quiet
  • Telling stories that make builders care: mine our engineers, customers, and community for narratives worth telling, then land them in whatever format the moment calls for, whether that is a thread, a video, a post, or a multi-week launch arc
  • Turning launches and company moments into stories with an angle, a sequence, and content people actually share, working alongside product marketing and demand generation
  • Engaging on community-first channels as a genuine participant rather than a marketer, and earning the credibility that lets a brand engage there at all
  • Producing multimedia content for a technical audience: video, graphics, carousels, quote cards, and event clips, with agency support and with your own hands when speed matters
  • Monitoring trends and conversations, and engaging in them on behalf of the brand, same day when the moment is time-sensitive
  • Recommending where we play and where we don't: building the channel strategy for social, making the case for new channels with data, and sunsetting the ones that aren't earning their keep
  • Reporting on engagement rate, impressions, and follower growth as core metrics, with commentary on what drove the numbers
  • Handling day-to-day channel administration, including profile hygiene, access and permissions, brand consistency, and community guidelines
  • Managing the calendar, approvals, tagging taxonomy, dashboards, and user onboarding in Sprout Social

Requirements

  • Have 3 to 5 years in communications, PR, social, content, or community work, with technical subject matter somewhere in the mix: software delivery, CI/CD, agentic coding, security, or platform engineering, or a track record of getting up to speed fast
  • Are a storyteller first. You can find the human angle in a technical topic and structure a narrative that builds, and you have work you're proud to show for it
  • Understand developers and technical audiences. You know what earns their respect and what makes them close the tab, whether from working in developer tooling, living in dev communities, or repeatedly winning over technical audiences
  • Are chronically online in the best way: fluent in how internet culture moves across platforms, early to spot what's worth jumping on, and honest about what a B2B brand should leave alone
  • Know the unwritten rules of developer channels. You understand why Reddit downvotes what LinkedIn applauds, what survives a Hacker News comment section, and how brands earn the right to exist in those spaces
  • Write like it's your craft. A LinkedIn post, a video script, a byline, and a pitch in the same afternoon, each one sounding right for its channel
  • We expect you to be fluent with AI and curious about how it makes you better at your craft.
  • You will also have:

Preferred

  • Experience producing content for B2B SaaS, especially developer tools
  • A real footprint in developer communities such as open source, Discord, Hacker News, or Reddit, as a contributor rather than an observer
  • Design and video chops: Figma, Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, or similar
  • Hands-on time with Sprout Social or a comparable platform, and the ability to pull, interpret, and contextualize platform analytics without help

Benefits

  • Health coverage from day one. You're eligible on your start date, not 90 days in. Choose from medical, dental and vision options designed to support your healthcare needs. Choose an HDHP plan and we will contribute to your HSA on top of your own pre-tax contributions.
  • Real money toward your future. Invest in your future with a competitive 401(k) company match, offering both pre-tax and Roth options to help you reach your financial goals.
  • Time that's actually yours. Our BEE-Flexible PTO policy folds vacation, sick time, and personal days into one unlimited plan. Plus 11 paid U.S. holidays and 2 dedicated Bee-Giving Days to volunteer for a cause you care about.
  • Protection we pay for entirely. We fully fund your Life and AD&D, Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability protection. Plus our Employee Assistance Program is fully covered too.
  • Support for your headspace - literally. All Bees have access to a company-sponsored Headspace account. Plus, a dedicated Care Concierge service so you never have to decode a benefits question alone.
  • A home office that works. A stipend every month toward your work-from-home setup in addition to the opportunity to work (hybrid) in an office with your peers.
  • Upside when we win. Base salary is the floor. Our Variable MBO Compensation plan rewards for the goals you deliver and the growth we drive together.
  • A global, collaborative team that lives by our values: Customer Obsessed, High Agency, Truth Seeking, Hard Work, Ship Excellence, Direct Feedback.
  • People who sweat the craft. A team that takes its work seriously and invests in each other's growth.
