Job Summary

Own and support city communications and social content across digital publications, with a bias toward hands-on posts and on-site event coverage.

  • Social & Content: Create reels, influencer content, and engaging posts for city audiences.
  • Publications & Organization: Help produce digital publications and keep project files tidy.
  • Research & Initiative: Do independent problem solving and contribute ideas to lift project outcomes.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Support Communications on tasks and projects
  • Create fun and innovative social media posts, including reels, influencer content, and more
  • Help produce digital publications
  • Manage and organize digital files and project folders.
  • Assist with writing articles and social media content
  • Conduct independent research to solve technical or creative challenges.
  • Ask questions, take the initiative, and contribute ideas to enhance projects.
Requirements
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university (3rd year standing or higher) or be pursuing graduate-level studies in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, or other related fields.
  • Able to work on-site at College Park's City Hall 14-20Hr (2 days) per week.
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends to cover City events for social media.

  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and formats, including Instagram, Facebook, Nextdoor, X, and LinkedIn.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
