Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead SALT’s Signature Events: You’ll take the reins on the Bald Eagle Bash — one of the region’s most beloved fundraising events — plus other outreach and community gatherings. You’ll handle everything from planning and budgeting to sponsorship fulfillment, volunteer coordination, marketing, ticket sales, and day‑of leadership.
  • Shape SALT’s Story: You’ll manage the full production of The SALT Line, our biannual 20–30 page magazine. That means project management, design/layout (InDesign), and working with writers and printers.
  • Connect with Our Community: You’ll write and design SALT’s monthly email newsletters and other communications with donors, members and others using Constant Contact and related platforms.
  • Own Our Social Media Presence: Participate in the development of SALT’s social media strategy. Design and deliver engaging social media content consistent with the strategy.
  • Oversee Digital Marketing and Analytics: You'll monitor and evaluate performance across email, website, social media, and event marketing channels. Using data and insights, you'll help improve audience engagement, event attendance, memberships, fundraising results, and overall brand visibility.
  • Keep Our Website Fresh: You’ll write and maintain website content that’s clear, compelling, and up to date. You'll help manage online event registrations, membership transactions, and digital content through platforms such as WordPress, WooCommerce, and related tools.
  • Run Our Annual Nature Photography Contest: You’ll coordinate communications, submissions, and promotion for one of our most popular community programs.
  • Bring New Ideas to the Table: You’ll advise SALT leadership on creative ways to boost SALT’s visibility and reach new audiences.

South Alabama Land Trust

At South Alabama Land Trust, we protect more than land — we protect the soul of coastal Alabama. Since 1990, we’ve worked to preserve the edges of our state: the wild places where land meets water, where bogs, marshes, and estuaries form the beating heart of our environmental health. Through land acquisition, conservation easements, and partnerships — including our long-standing alliance with the Weeks Bay Reserve — we’ve permanently protected over 10,000 acres in Baldwin and Mobile counties. We are a Nationally Accredited Land Trust committed to action. Backed by over 550 members, donors, and sponsors, we fight every day to keep our coastlines undeveloped, our waters clean, and our ecosystems thriving. The land we protect will never be sold. It will remain wild — forever. Join us in defending the beauty, biodiversity, and future of Alabama’s coast before it slips away.
