Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage and publish the Peddie AM, the school's daily online digest of events, schedules and storytelling, distributed each morning to employees, students and families.
  • Write and distribute the monthly Connections newsletter using Mailchimp; maintain distribution lists and track engagement.
  • Compile and edit Class Notes submissions for the Peddie Chronicle.
  • Write stories for peddie.org and the Peddie Chronicle as assigned.
  • Own day-to-day content updates to peddie.org using WordPress, ensuring information is accurate, current and aligned with Peddie's voice and visual standards.
  • Review website content regularly and collaborate with colleagues across campus to keep pages up to date.
  • Assist with basic SEO/AEO practices.
  • Support social media efforts, including drafting copy, gathering assets and scheduling posts.
  • Support the in-house videographer with setup and interviews.
  • Proofread print and digital materials for accuracy, consistency and alignment with AP Style and Peddie's brand voice.
  • Organize, route and file department invoices; obtain required approvals and submit to the Business Office in a timely manner.
  • Collect receipts from department staff and assist with monthly department credit card reconciliation.
  • Manage department supply ordering.
  • Manage employee business card orders.
  • Provide coverage for The Peddie Store daily during lunch periods, and at school events and as needed; deliver excellent customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a command of grammar and style.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and systems, including WordPress and Mailchimp.
  • A collaborative, positive and service-oriented approach to work.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend event coverage.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in communications, marketing or a related role (independent school experience a plus)
  • Familiarity with WordPress (or a similar CMS), Mailchimp, Canva and project management tools (e.g., Asana).
  • Experience working in AP Style and with editorial workflows.
  • Basic photo editing skills (Photoshop or Canva).
  • Experience with social media platforms and scheduling tools.
  • Interest in school communities and storytelling.
