Job Summary

Own the district-wide communications program, aligning with strategic plan, shaping public narrative, and advising the Superintendent on messaging, stakeholder engagement, and crisis response to strengthen district reputation.

  • Strategy & Brand Alignment: Develop, implement, and evaluate a district-wide communications plan aligned with the strategic plan and brand standards.
  • Executive Communications & Advisory: Draft speeches, presentations, talking points, and correspondence for the Superintendent and Board; coordinate executive messaging.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Media: Identify opportunities for positive media coverage, partnerships, and speaking engagements, and manage crisis communication where needed.
  • Reputation Monitoring: Conduct perception audits and climate assessments to monitor district reputation.
  • Channel & Audience Strategy: Identify target audiences and tailor messaging across multiple platforms and channels.
  • Transformation Coordination: Coordinate cross-functional communication planning during district transformation initiatives.
  • KPI & Continuous Improvement: Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate effectiveness and inform improvements.
  • Leadership & Governance: Serve on the Superintendent’s cabinet and advise on messaging and public positioning.
  • Events & Board Support: Coordinate communication planning for Board meetings and major initiatives, ensuring consistent executive messaging.
  • Coaching & Development: Provide communication coaching to the Superintendent, Board, and senior leaders.
