Job Description

Search: Consultant to Steer the 100-Year-Plan Fundraiser in Pembroke Twp.
We are in the early stages of planning a campaign launch here in Pembroke Township, in partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), to ensure that Black Regenerative Farming exists in perpetuity. Little is known, but the original Black Farmers of Pembroke Twp were impeccable environmental stewards. They conserved what is now called the Kankakee Sands while getting vital nutrients to Great Migration families from Cleveland, Ohio, to Maywood, Illinois. The 100-Year-Plan is to secure 1-3,000 acres of farmland to ensure Black Regenerative Farming continues in Pembroke Township, one of the largest Black Farming communities north of the Mason-Dixon Line, founded and homesteaded by Black farming families over 150 years ago.
The initial launch with TNC is exclusive to TNC donors and will conclude on May 31st, 2026. As of June 1st, 2026, we will need to hire someone passionate about the vision and mission to lead the campaign from June 2026 to June 2027, the 150th Anniversary celebration of the incorporation of Pembroke Township. We are aiming to raise $2-10 million to secure 250 of the1-3000 acres of farmland. We aim to put a stake in the 100-Year-Plan in the near future.
Please let us know if you are interested. There are funds available to pay a consultant if we secure one quickly.
