Responsibilities

  • 1. Events. a. Brainstorm ideas b. Help with event planning and day of event. c. Create event timelines. d. Secure vendors.
  • 2. Marketing Help a. Help with monthly newsletters. b. Write stories c. Write social media posts.
  • 3. Database work a. Data entry. b. Data clean up. c. Create invite lists. d. Assist with Bloomerang database software.
  • 4. Research a. Research other foundations b. Research other events. c. Research donors. d. Research grants.
  • 5. Writing a. Letters. b. Donor stories. c. Write grant applications.
  • 6. Meetings a. Attend foundation board meetings. b. Attend meetings as needed.
  • 7. Budget and expenses.
  • 8. Build community awareness for the foundation.
  • Schedule/Location: Flexible hybrid schedule. Location would be at Northfield Hospital to begin with, then work a mix of in-person and virtual once skills and work are established.
  • Hours: 5 - 10 hours a week. This is flexible. We accommodate all school breaks.

Requirements

  • Current St. Olaf student
  • Interest in business, marketing, communications, graphic design or interest in event planning preferred.
  • Skills in Microsoft programs including Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take ownership of projects, follow instructions, and work independently or with minimal supervision
  • Solid attention to detail, organizational skills, flexibility and customer service
  • Learns quickly
  • Ability to interact well with all kinds of people
  • All staff and interns are required to provide health screening information that includes TB screen and immunization check. Annual flu vaccine is required.
  • Background check with fingerprints and photo.
