Job Summary

Own and lead the Creative Studio, delivering hands-on design, managing operations, and partnering with Marketing, Sales, and Product to align creative work with business priorities while coaching a high-performing team and driving continuous improvement.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on execution - Remain an active creative contributor, personally delivering design work for high-priority, complex or time-sensitive projects. This is a working creative leader not a role that directs from the sidelines.
  • Studio operations & demand management - Own the Creative Studio operating model, including intake, workflow, prioritization, resource allocation and delivery. Balance changing business demands with team capacity while continuously improving speed, transparency and execution.
  • Business partnership & stakeholder management- Partner with Marketing, Sales, Product and regional teams to align creative investment with Getty Images' business priorities. Balance commercial impact, brand standards and team capacity when evaluating requests, set clear expectations on scope and delivery, communicate trade-offs proactively, and escalate competing priorities that require executive direction.
  • Creative excellence & brand stewardship — Raise the creative bar across the studio by coaching the team and championing exceptional design and storytelling that reflects Getty Images' leadership in visual content. Serve as the primary steward of brand consistency across campaigns, sales materials, and regional output. Website/product UX design sits outside this role's remit and is owned by a separate team. The CMO retains final brand authority.
  • People leadership – Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of designers and copywriters. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, creative excellence and continuous learning.
  • Continuous improvement - Modernize studio operations through AI-enabled workflows, automation and smarter ways of working that increase creative capacity without compromising quality.

Requirements

  • Experience leading an in-house creative studio or team, ideally global or multi-region. Proven ability to lead designers and copywriters while remaining a hands-on creative contributor.
  • Strong design craft and the confidence to execute high-profile work personally when required. Expect roughly at least 50% of your time on direct creative execution alongside leading the studio.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to translate business priorities into creative decisions.
  • Experience building scalable creative operations, workflows and delivery models.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Sound judgment in balancing competing priorities and making timely decisions.

Preferred

  • Experience applying AI and automation to improve creative workflows is a plus.

Benefits

  • Getty Images is committed to the health and well-being of its employees and benefits for full-time permanent employees may include participation in the company incentive program, equity, and benefits package which is inclusive of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid company holidays and time off, and paid parental leave.
