Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the LPGA’s Content & Platform Department across content strategy, social strategy, video production, design production, product (web and app) development, editorial storytelling and content distribution.
  • Maintain direct oversight of the department’s key verticals, including Video Production, Design Production, Social Media and Product (web and app) teams.
  • Define and execute the LPGA’s overarching digital strategy across third-party social platforms and first-party owned and operated platforms, including LPGA.com and the LPGA app.
  • Grow LPGA fandom across priority domestic and international markets through stronger storytelling, platform development, content distribution and fan engagement.
  • Establish clear strategic priorities by season, event and initiative across LPGA Tour, Epson Tour, brand, player, international, branded content and foundation programming.
  • Work within the broader Marketing and Communications team to define editorial narratives, content pillars, storytelling priorities and campaign frameworks across the full LPGA ecosystem, with a focus on marquee events.
  • Partner with the Head of Social to guide platform strategy, publishing strategy, channel management and audience growth across Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Snap, LinkedIn and international social presences.
  • Partner with the Head of Product to advance the LPGA’s owned and operated platform strategy, including website and app development, product roadmap, feature evolution and execution.
  • Partner with the Head of Video Production to ensure the LPGA produces high-quality short-form, long-form, vertical, archival, player, branded and feature video content.
  • Partner with the Head of Design Production to ensure the LPGA produces strong static and motion design assets that support social, web, app, editorial, video, branded and organizational needs.
  • Oversee the development of an athlete elevation program and creation of Player Content team, including the production and distribution of custom content for LPGA player social media handles.
  • In partnership with the Marketing department, oversee the development of the LPGA’s branded content strategy, ensuring partner-related content is strategically aligned with the LPGA’s fan and audience growth initiatives.
  • Develop and refine the LPGA’s international digital strategy, including native language content and channels across priority markets (e.g. Japan, Korea, Thailand, U.K., Canada, etc.)
  • Ensure digital support for LPGA brand, amateur and foundation initiatives through clear planning, production and publishing workflows.
  • Build scalable and repeatable operating models for year-round content planning, tournament coverage, editorial calendars, asset production, platform publishing and performance reporting.
  • Use data, reporting and audience insights to identify trends, optimize content performance and refine strategy across social, digital, content and product channels.
  • In partnership with the Marketing department, guide paid media strategy to amplify high-priority content, campaigns and platform initiatives.
  • Manage department budget, structure, staffing, workflows and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery across a large multidisciplinary team.
  • Create strong collaboration and alignment on audience growth between Digital, Marketing, Brand, Communications, Business Intelligence, Partnerships, Media, Foundation and Competition teams.
  • Set standards for creative quality, editorial judgment, platform fluency, operational discipline and performance accountability across the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, Sports Management, Media, Journalism, Film Production or related field
  • 10+ years of related experience in social media, digital strategy and content production
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, managing large and distributed multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proven marketer with ability to grow audiences, engagement, reach and platform performance
  • Demonstrated integrator of content production (video, design) and distribution (social, web and app)
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, digital ecosystems and modern fan behavior
  • Familiarity with video production, graphic design, social publishing and web/app workflows
  • Experience developing content strategies on a campaign, event and year-round basis
  • Ability to turn performance reporting and audience insights into data-informed optimization
  • Experience in delivering integrated branded content, aligned with overall organic strategy
  • Experience in delivering international, localized content to grow a global audience
  • Experience working in live sports at the team, league or governing body-level required
  • Ability to manage complex workflows, competing priorities and high-volume content calendars
  • Impeccable attention to detail, strong editorial judgment and exceptional storytelling instincts
  • Established culture leader, with a passion for talent development and mentorship of direct reports
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator and communicator across departments
