Job Summary

Own the catalog content and merchandising, lead blog/SEO content, and optimize the full funnel from landing page to checkout, using AI and data to prioritize fixes.

  • Own product content across thousands of SKUs
  • Lead category merchandising and content strategy
  • Drive full-funnel improvements with data-driven prioritization

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of product content across the catalog: PDP copy, imagery direction, specs, comparison content, and merchandising presentation across thousands of SKUs
  • Own the blog and content calendar — buyer's guides, category content, and SEO-driven articles, following our established content standards
  • Run full-funnel analysis (landing page → PDP → cart → checkout) to find where revenue is being left on the table, and build the fixes yourself rather than waiting to be told
  • Build business cases for prioritization: what to fix first, what it's worth, and why — with data leadership can act on immediately
  • Own category and store-wide merchandising: collection strategy, cross-sell/upsell placement, seasonal and promotional planning
  • Report regularly to leadership on what's working, what’s not, and what needs a decision — with a clear point of view, not just dashboards
  • Understand our audience deeply enough to spot content and merchandising gaps before they show up in the data
  • Manage the full app ecosystem we run on day to day: Klaviyo (email/SMS), Recharge (subscriptions), Judge.me (reviews/UGC), wishlist tools, delivery estimate widgets, and SEO/schema apps
  • Use Shopify Advanced reporting and ShopifyQL to track category and SKU-level performance, not just store-wide metrics
  • Use AI tools (Claude and similar) as a core part of how you produce content and analyze data faster

Requirements

  • 3+ years managing ecommerce operations at a marketplace or multi-brand retailer with a large SKU catalog — you should be able to speak concretely about a time you grew a category or drove measurable revenue, not just "helped with" it
  • Direct experience owning product content at scale — writing and structuring content for hundreds or thousands of listings, not a handful
  • Full-funnel thinking: you can diagnose whether a problem is a traffic problem, a content problem, or a conversion problem, and prioritize accordingly
  • Comfortable building a business case — translating "here's what I found" into "here's what we should do and why it's worth it"
  • Genuine hands-on experience with AI tools (Claude preferred) in a real production workflow
  • Strong merchandising instincts — you understand why products get placed, bundled, and promoted the way they do
  • Sharp written communication for reporting to leadership concisely and persuasively
  • U.S.-based, able to work U.S. business hours

Preferred

  • Experience in health, fitness, or wellness ecommerce
  • Familiarity with rubber flooring, home gym equipment, or supplement products
  • Experience managing a dropship or multi-vendor fulfillment catalog
  • Basic paid media literacy (Google Shopping/Merchant Center, Meta) — not required to run campaigns, but to speak the same language as our marketing partners
  • Experience with Shopify Plus/Advanced specifically

Benefits

  • Real ownership over a growing marketplace — your fingerprints will be on the content, merchandising, and funnel customers experience every day
  • Direct access to leadership — no layers between you and decisions getting made
  • Remote, flexible, no corporate bureaucracy
  • Room to grow as the store scales and the role expands
