Job Summary

Own the category experience across insight-driven strategy, GTM planning, and cross-functional execution to optimize CSAT and EBIT through channel-aligned journeys and ongoing trading decisions.

Category strategy and proposition: partner with insight, buyers, and marketing to define annual range, price, availability, and services that maximize performance.
Go-to-market execution and customer experience: coordinate channel journeys, training, and cross-functional delivery for major initiatives and events.
Analytics and reporting: bring online and customer insights to trading decisions, KPI dashboards, and performance reviews to drive growth.

Job Description

Own the category experience across insight-driven strategy, GTM planning, and cross-functional execution to optimize CSAT and EBIT through channel-aligned journeys and ongoing trading decisions.

Working with the customer insight team to ensure the squad adequately understands the category landscape, including customers, competitors, trends, financial performance, range performance, threats and opportunities, to support the development of the annual category strategy
Create the blueprint for the annual category strategy
Using insight, work with the buyer, planner, services and credit representatives to define annually the category ‘proposition’ – the best combination of range, price, availability, services and credit
Working with channel representatives and brand & marketing to define the right shopping journey in all channels, including training and engagement of customer facing colleagues in the category selling journey
Working with the central planning and brand & marketing function to develop in line with the annual events calendar the ‘Go to market’ strategy and plan for the category
Supporting the squad in landing all major initiatives, including major new product launches
Be the champion for delivering great customer experiences in all channels
Bringing appropriate analytics and insight from the online and customer team to support decision making related to day-to-day trading, events and promotions
Working with the Senior E-commerce Manager to understand category KPI dashboard and reporting metrics
Co-ordinating responses to major marketing briefs across the category in appropriate templates
